The collab
Drifter is sending two travellers on an eight-week storytelling residency across its social hotels and hostels in Australia and New Zealand. One pair applies together — friends, partners, colleagues or travel companions — and travels sometime between 5 October and 22 December 2026, moving between Drifter properties in Sydney (Surry Hills, Bondi Beach, Glebe), Melbourne (Melbourne City, North Melbourne), Byron Bay, Cairns, Canberra and Christchurch.
Drifter covers accommodation across its properties, return flights up to $4,000 combined, all inter-property travel, and pays $500 a week in combined spending money for the pair (A$4,000 over the eight weeks).
In return, the pair experiences the brand from the inside — the events, the wellness sessions, the guests, the local communities — and tells that story through content, editorial stories and real guest moments. Drifter states no minimum follower count and is explicit that it is looking for a point of view and an eye rather than a polished pitch: applicants are asked to follow @thehoteldrifter on Instagram and TikTok and show how they would tell the story differently.
One application covers both creators. Applications close 30 September 2026, 11:59pm AEST.
